Giveaway: Tix to Mandy Moore Special Acoustic Performance in NYC

We watched Mandy Moore, the once sweet like “candy” popstar, grow up right before our eyes — deserting the bubblegum stylings along the way. And now, she’s back with a new album, Amanda Leigh, the title of which is taken from her own first and middle names. Based on the title alone, one could say the album will be a reflection of Moore who was (finally) given complete creative control of the recording process.

In support of the new album, Moore has teamed up with Best Buy for a special promotion here in NYC . On June 2nd, she’ll perform an acoustic show at the Highline Ballroom in NYC and if you purchase Amanda Leigh at a NY Metro Area Best Buy (or at Bestbuy.com) your receipt will grant you (and a guest) admission to the show. Pretty sweet, right? Be sure to check the list of participating stores in the NY Metro Area.

While space is limited and entry to the show will be on a first come first serve basis, The Round Table is hooking you up! Thanks to our friends at RED Music, we have 5 pair of tickets that guarantee you entrance to the show. See below on how to enter our ticket giveaway. Please note you must be 18 or older with a valid ID to attend the performance and must live in NYC area (or willing to travel on your own dime.)

Show Details:
Tuesday June 2nd, 8PM at The Highline Ballroom
431 W. 16th St. (b/t 9th and 10th Ave), New York, NY 10011
Doors open at 7PM

My favorite Mandy Moore moment was seeing her in Saved – still is. It’s so different from her actual personality! I thought she did an excellent job in the film and helped make a really good point.

I also loved her first independent album. I had it on my iPod and listened to it over and over again. It was the first time I’d listened to many of those songs, and the ones I had heard before, it was cool to hear a different take on it. I’d love to see Mandy in person!

My favorite Mandy Moore moment came on Sept 7, 2007. My boyfriend and I went to see Mandy at the HOB-Orlando and snuck into the green room after the show! We got to meet Mandy, her band, and some family. It was an amazing night, and Mandy was SO nice! My favorite song that she sang that night was Gardenia, such a gorgeous ballad. Can’t wait to see you again Mandy!!!!

My favourite Mandy Moore moment was her acting in A walk to remember! Very touching movie with a message to everyone, to cherish each other and to be a better person with the life that we have.

My favorite Mandy Moore Moment was seeing her live at Webster Hall. She was even more awesome in person.

My favorite Mandy moment was when she put out her album Coverage which started showing that she had so much more in her than that bubblegum pop. And introducing us to those amazing songs of the ’70s and ’80s. And from then on it only progressed in the best way possible and I feel Amanda Leigh sort of came back around to Coverage since the songs have such a ’70s singer-songwriter feel to them. So actually my favorite Mandy moment is still lasting!

The best Mandy Moore moment? Saved. You know all too well that when some musicians take a stab at acting, it’s doomed from the start. Remember when Cyndi Lauper and Janet Jackson tried it? Yeah, neither does anyone else :) . Only very few can pull it off and Mandy Moore really did. She aced her character. I actually think she’s got a back-up career should the indie pop direction not work in her favor. Maybe more repressed Christian virgin roles are in her future?
