Music Video: Lady Gaga, Beyonce Unveil Edgy, Explicit, Product Placement-Filled “Telephone” Video

March 12th, 2010 by AP

Whether you like her or not, it’s hard to argue that Lady Gaga has tested the limits and pushed them numerous times already in her rather young mainstream music career.

There’s no question she has evolved into one of the most polarizing popular music acts of the 21st century, and the direction she is heading indicates it will only get more extreme the longer she remains relevant.

Don’t believe it? Consider the progression of her music over the last four or so years, and check out her newest and much anticipated video in which she collaborates with….wait for it….Beyonce.

Little is left to the imagination in this video for “Telephone” which includes prison fights, product placement, and no shortage of lesbian make-out scenes.

Check it out for yourself, and don’t be surprised if her next move just happens to include Britney Spears. It just makes too much sense right now.

  1. Jayvee Says:

you forgot to mention Gaga topless — a sight no one should EVER EVER EVER see again. EVER.

  2. Jared Says:

You failed to mention the other collaborator in this video: The “Pussy Wagon” from Kill Bill – It’s good to know it’s still able to find work, and is doing good for itself I might add.

  3. Forest Says:

I was hoping for something bigger – not going to lie. She basically ripped a page, or two, from Madonna’s “SEX” book in the beginning and then checked off the $9.99 plan for “Three Steps to Video Controversy!”

    Step 1: Nudity
    Step 2: Lesbianism
    Step 3: Cussing

After that, it was mostly just a regular, non-sensical, Gaga video with wacky outfits and dancing. The only redeeming part for me was the Tarantino vibe, but even that was only so fulfilling. I don’t know … I got back and forth on Gaga. This morning? Definitely not a fan.

  4. Forest Says:

    “go” back and forth …

  5. Jayvee Says:

Again, this video is a prime example of how people just talked about the gimmicks — not the music.

  6. Carlos Says:

Okay I’m done. You win jayvee.

  7. Ed-G Says:

    Is Lent over yet?
Not talking smack about her during Lent is KILLING me.

  8. Mike Says:

Eh, the video was entertaining in a completely nonsensical way.
