Flashback Friday: Van Halen’s ‘Jump’

The past several Flashback Friday picks have been focused on the hip hop scene and the mid-to-late 90s. It’s time to take a break from that and really go to the way-back machine for some early 80s rock.

Remember 1984? The Chicago Bears were beginning to get competitive again, and music was good. Really, 1984 was so good that Van Halen named an entire album after the year.

It’s only May, but Jump is a perfect good weather song and reminds of summertime. Unfortunately, it marked the beginning of the end for the David Lee Roth era with Van Halen. Good thing for recordings. It can be 1984 everyday.

TRT advises you to stretch thoroughly and properly before hitting play.

Note: This song should be played at high volumes, preferably in a residential area.
