On occasion, we like to shed light on some of our online peers who cover music from a distinct perspective, so this shout goes out to BiggerThanBeyonce. The brainchild of Rob Brayl, BTB launched in 2009 with a clear mission: bring a “unique perspective to the music/entertainment radar as a website that cuts the bullshit and refuses to partake in the glamorizing of celebrity gossip. Instead, the focus is on the transformative power of music.”
At TRT, we take writing about music very seriously — so it’s only natural that we gravitate to what BTB is doing in the industry. Aside from the site’s stellar editorial content, BTB recently shot a promo which features music from OneRepublic.
The clip, which is written and directed by Rob Brayl himself, features real New Yorkers holding spray-painted vinyl records with heartfelt messages. The idea is simple, that music has the power to awaken. Check out the full promo after the cut:
