2012 is looking up for fans of white soul and neo-Motown, thanks to newbies Electric Guest. Aided by production from Danger Mouse, Electric Guest‘s latest, “This Head I Hold”, showcases a winning combo of Smokey Robinson-inspired falsetto, ivory-tickling, hand claps and the right amount of ‘ooh’s to get stuck in your head for days – and something tells me you will welcome it in (get it? like it’s a guest. in your head. an electric guest – ah, forget it). Here’s hoping their debut album Radical Miracle gets an early 2012 release date, cos I can’t wait to hear more from them…
