John Mayer Announces Tour and Releases Lead Single “Shadow Days”
John Mayer is set to hit the road after a two year hiatus as the singer-songwriter has announced a handful of tour dates in support of his upcoming album, Born and Raised.
The tour stops are a bit odd in choosing, at least from what mainstream Mayer fans are used to, but upon close review they seem pretty on-point with perhaps vibe of his new project which appears to be rooted in country/folk music. Accompanying him on this tour is up-and-comer Kacey Musgraves, who is perhaps one of the most talented young songwriters currently in the Nashville scene. I’ve had the pleasure of checking out Ms. Musgraves as a guest vocalist during Ashley Arrison’s show – so pretty pumped to see this young lady get some mass exposure.
Today, Mayer also released a :60 clip of lead single “Shadow Days,” which has his quintessential sound with heavy-up on the steel guitar and some Connecticut-laced twang. Listen to the audio clip at his Tumblr site and be sure to check out announced tour dates after the jump.
