Dear Rivers, please do not call your new Weezer album Heavy Mental. For the love of Buddy Holly, for all that is pure and good in Pinkerton – please do not title the new LP with some half-assed play on spandex jumpsuits and algebra.
Dearest Weezer, album number eight – due out on September 13 – will be your first since Pinkerton to not be released on a major label (Geffen or Interscope). You’ve promised more “raw rock energy,” but I would be thrilled if the albums simply featured more ”true Weezer energy.”
Yours in Hope, Forest
In the meantime, click “yes” if you do not want the new album to be titled Heavy Mental.

Apparently Robyn’s set to drop Body Talk Pt. 2 on September 6th in the UK –which should translate to September 7th for those of us stateside. Oh, and a few days before that she’ll release a new, dance-y version of Body Talk Pt. 1 ballad “Hang With Me” (which you may remember from a Millah Mix I posted weeks back).
Holy crap, I can’t wait! brb, freezing myself a la Eric Cartman to speed up the wait.
Eminem stands tall as Recovery sits pretty at the top of Billboard Top 200 Chart for the third straight week.
According to Hits Daily Double, he sold another 230,000 albums and edged toward 1.3 million albums total, which puts him in the third place spot for best selling album of the year (so far…). OnlyJustin Bieber’sMy World 2.0 (2nd) and Lady Antebellum’sNeed You Now have sold more units.
Drake took the #2 spot on the charts with Thank Me Later, which pushed another 73,000 units last week for a total of over 800,000 albums sold, while the soundtrack from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse took #3 spot.
Be sure to check out Billboard for full chart results.
On Machines that Listen, The Delta Mirror sound like different groups at different times, different groups at the same time and, all-in-all, unique unto themselves. While their official bio compares them to groups like The Big Pink and Fuck Buttons, I don’t really feel like either group does them justice – though the latter is closer.
For example, if you asked me who I thought The Big Pink sounded like, I would say Chapterhouse and Ride. They’ve definitely made their own sound, but I’d be pretty comfortable citing those two groups as major foundation for it.

Ciara’s cover for her upcoming album Basic Instinct has surfaced on the internets. Back in April she dropped a music video for a pretty aggressive song “Basic Instinct (U Got Me),” which was rumored to be aimed at Keri Hilson. While the singer has been seen on the recent party/award show circuit, very few details have been released regarding her new music. There are rumblings that Ci-Ci is ready to make a strong comeback, but it’s all yet to be seen at this point with the likes of Ke$ha and Lady Gaga topping the charts. Any Ciara fans out there? Are you excited for Basic Instinct? Sound off…
We started as a three friends having conversations about music during lunches together at the office. Since then we have expanded to seven members, including a Chi-town native, and the conversations have gotten bigger and better. The Round Table has grown into a casual setting where music aficionados can gather to discuss all things music. Topics include (but not limited to) artists and bands, new music releases, concerts, recording industry news and concerns, and the occasional nugget of entertainment gossip. We have tastes that cover the entire music spectrum and love to share them (and our opinions) with each other. We are The Round Table! Come join the conversation!
