Damn it’s a good day for new music, and it’s only noon.
Politically-conscious Canadian pop-rock outfit Metric released their new single “Youth Without Youth”. Guess what, it’s awesome. I expect nothing less from Emily Haines and crew (even if I didn’t love 2009’s Fantasies), as they always crank out stellar songs with a pro-social message.
“Youth Without Youth” is no exception – taking on the anger and resentment against the Oligarchy, the 1%, the resulting rise in student debt and lack of resources. As Haines puts it: “the older generation is kinda selling out the younger generation.” Hear, hear!
All in all, I’m psyched for Synthetica, which drops on June 12.
