Nicki Minaj and Will.i.am “Check It Out” Music Video Inspired by Japanese Anime

Nicki Minaj borrows from Japanese culture again — this time anime — for her upcoming music video “Check It Out” featuring Will.i.am. The pair first performed the song at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, but are looking to take the futuristic visuals in the video to a new level.

The rapper described her collaboration with Will.i.am to MTV News by saying, “I’ve joined forces with the only boy that I know that’s able to capture that culture.”

It’s becoming abundantly clear that overall Ms. Minaj is inspired by Japanese culture as her debut music video for “Your Love” depicted a love story around a samurai and geisha. Watch “Check It Out” below:
