Singer-songwriter Cassadee Pope has emerged as one of the clear frontrunners on NBC’s The Voice Season 3 as part of Blake Shelton’s team. Pope has covered ever genre of music ranging from pop with Natalie Imbrulia’s “Torn” and Kelly Clarkson’s “Behind The Hazel Eyes,” to her more punk-pop roots with Avril Lavigne’s “My Happy Ending,” and quite possibly sealed her ticket to The Voice finals by blowing away all of America with her rendition of Miranda Lambert’s “Over You,” last week. Her version of the tune went on to hold the #1 spot on iTunes Singles chart for upwards of 48 hours, a feat unheard of for a singing competition contestant.
But as Sara Scoggs of Buzznet’s Music Notes reminds us, Cassadee Pope was a pretty well established artist for the least 4 years or so as frontwoman for Hey Monday, which included a major label record deal, a tour with Pete Wentz’s Fall Out Boy, and recent solo artist status with the release of her self-titled EP.
Buzznet went ahead and created a 3-part video series celebrating the evolution of Cassadee Pope over the years starting with her Hey Monday days up until recent appearances on NBC’s The Voice. It’s a must watch if you’ve come to adore Pope as I have — check it out after the jump. Be sure to tune into The Voice tomorrow to see if Cassadee moves on.
