Watch: Carrie Manolakos Covers Radiohead’s “Creep”

File under: things that shouldn’t work, but then you think about it again and, they should, and totally do.

To promote her debut album, Echo, singer/songwriter and Broadway star Carrie Manolakos performed a rousing rendition of Radiohead‘s “Creep” at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC a few weeks ago. The result wasn’t so much showtunes-y, as it was full of raw emotion and incredible vocals, natch. It’s both stripped down, and built up.

Apparently, there’s just nothing like a beautiful woman singing about being a freak and a weirdo.

You’d be surprised… “Creep” is just a great song overall, so I find myself loving pretty much every cover (unless of course someone butchers it). Plus I love the juxtaposition of a sweet vocal tone singing these eerie lyrics.
