Forest’s Hot in 2010 List – Arcade Fire, Eels, Scissor Sisters and More!
Thursday, June 17th, 2010If there’s one thing I’m awesome at, it’s making “to-get” lists of upcoming albums and then completely failing to remember that I am supposed to pick them up. Weeks later, I remember and, having lost the opportunity to be a taste-maker, enjoy them with minimal outbursts.
Still, I do love making lists for myself – almost as much as I enjoy making lists for others. And so, without further ado, I present to you my “Hot in 2010″ list of music that you must buy. (and remind me to buy)
1) Superchunk – Majesty Shredding (September 14)
It’s been about nine years since indie pop heroes Superchunk released a new album. Based on the sliver of a teaser below, they’ve still got something going for them. Here’s hoping that this is one 90′s super group that won’t devolve into self-parody and bad party songs. *cough* Weezer ..
2) Arcade Fire – The Suburbs (August 3)
My hopes are high for the new LP from Arcade Fire. The Neon Bible was such an impressive evolution from Funeral, not to mention completely amazing on its own merit. Based on the two new tracks from Arcade Fire, “The Suburbs” and “Month of May,” we’re in for something completely different yet again.
When The Suburbs is released three days before my birthday, expect me to party like it’s already there.
