Backed by only a piano and her acoustic guitarists, Ms. Clarkson absolutely stuns the crowd with her vocals. Minus the one random “woo-er” the audience sits in complete silence for just over 3 minutes. Pretty impressive stuff. Check out the video below – as well as the original by Mr. Urban.

As always, Lucca was a crowd-pleaser. He hit the stage roughly after 9:45p and opened his set with “Darlin’ I,” a borderline country tune that exemplifies his nomadic ways followed by the more politically focused “Close Enough.” Pacing himself through recent set list staples of “True Story,” “Death of Me,” and “Undertow,” Lucca captivated a sold out crowd of predominately Tyrone Wells (tour-mate) fans. In true fashion, the audience gave the most thunderous applause for his ode to the big city with the aptly titled “New York City.” Lucca ended his nearly 40-minute set with “Pretty Things,” which is by far one of my favorite songs to watch him perform live.

Headliner Tyrone Wells closed the show with a rousing 60-minute+ set that completely won me over. Truthfully, I had never heard of him until that moment and was planning to cut out early – let’s just say I’m glad I opted to stick around. Wells is definitely a polished performer who not only put forth a flawless vocal performance, but entertained with witty stage banter and story-telling. For guys (and gals) that tend to play acoustic sets, the ability to connect with the crowd – almost pulse check them – is a must. We won’t bore you with all the stereo typical things that Hoboken-ites did like fist-pump (not kidding), shout throughout the set (seriously), and even start a bar brawl (not making this up!). But, leave it to Mr. Lerche to handle the atmosphere like a true pro,while digressing momentarily from his typical stage banter to liken the experience to a Jerry Springer show. To say Matt’s rising up the star-rank quickly would be a drastic understatement.
