Off the bat, I should state that Jon Brion is a brilliant producer/composer, so I’m pretty excited about JB teaming up with Of Montreal again. Earlier this year, he leant his talents to the band for An Eluardian Instance AKA the Jon Brion EP. The disc featured Brion’s reinterpretations of two songs from full-length Skeletal Lamping, “An Eluardian Instance” and “Gallery Piece,” both of which were remixed and overlayed with additional instrumentation.

Just yesterday, Of Montreal announced via Twitter that the band will work with Brion on their upcoming full-length album. Of Montreal is leaving it up to the fans imaginations to run wild as they simply teased out the nature of the project by saying, “Just had a rad meeting with Sir Jon Brion. Looks like we’re gonna work together on the new album! Dreams do come true.”

Yup, not much to go off of there – but we’re pretty excited to hear what materializes from this meeting.speaking of Jon Brion, isn’t it about time he gets Fiona Apple back in the studio? Come on, JB, we’re waiting!

Robbie Williams just might be returning to his boyband roots by reuniting with ex-bandmates Take That. In 2005, Take That reunited after almost a 10-year hiatus and embarked on a world tour without Williams,. who gave his “blessing” at the time.

It now appears that Williams has had a change of heart. After being questioned by reporters he said that he has indeed returned to the studio with the group and that the new tracks are “absolutely amazing.”

We’re not sure what to make of this rumor since just last Friday Williams denied that he would appear with Take That for a children’s fundraiser. Guess we’ll have to wait and see how this one pans out. Either way, we’ll always have 1995.
