Music Video: Mark Ronson and The Business Intl “Bang Bang Bang” ft. Q-Tip

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

Mark Ronson released the official video for lead single “Bang Bang Bang” off his upcoming third album Record Collection (Sept). Ronson stayed true to form by enlisting some of his famous buddies including co-writer Nick Hodgson (Kaiser Chiefs) and Q-Tip for the synth-heavy jam that’s sure to catch-fire this summer.

Ronson explained the video treatment in a recent interview with Spinner.com by saying, “‘Bang Bang Bang’ takes place on a TV show in an unknown country in an unknown time period with an unknown cast of characters. In fact, it’s a lot like ‘Lost,’ but with a better ending. The only thing you need to know is that somewhere in this world, Q-Tip, MNDR and myself are performing the most exciting song ever. And for 3:50, people from all over the galaxy are having the time of their life.”

Well played. You can check out the video premiere below. I can’t wait for Record Collection to hit stores. Rumored guests include D’Angelo, Boy George, Simon Le Bon (Duran Duran), Nick Rhodes (Duran Duran), Alex Greenwald, Ghostface, MNDR, The Dap Kings, Spank Rock, and more.

Free Music: Ghostface Millah Mix Volume 2 (More Awesome New/Leaked Music!)

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

By “popular” “demand” I’m continuing what I started with last month’s Ghostface Millah Mix Volume 1 by giving you, dear readers, whatever excellent new music I’ve acquired or gotten-into of late. I present to you the Ghostface Millah Mix Volume 2.

If I do say so myself, it’s better than the first. For starters, it’s longer which means more goodness for you, and, just like last time, it’s a decent combo of blogosphere well-knowns and some deeper cuts from recently released albums to which I just can’t stop listening.

Download, listen and let me know what you think!

Watch: “Backseat” by Staygold feat. Robyn, Spank Rock & Damien Adore – Live at P3 Guld 2010

Monday, January 25th, 2010

At P3 Guld 2010 (what is sure to be Forest’s fave awards show), Sweden’s very best came together to honor and appreciate the past year’s musical accomplishments. Much like the Grammys and other so-so American music award shows, this show featured a collabo performance that just must be shared –most notably, one with Robyn (!!) and Spank Rock. The song is great and only made better by some sweet hip hop dancers and a touching embrace between our girl Robyn and Spank Rock. Fortunately (or unfortunately?), it does not feature any male-head-on-male-crotch pantomime.

“Backseat” video & mp3 after the cut, along with a clip of Fever Ray’s awesome-creepy Artist of the Year acceptance speech, featuring her melting face from the picture on the right. Between Fever Ray’s Karin Dreijer Andersson and Lady Gaga – I am feeling the fuck out of the current non-traditional pop music and subsequent artistry.

About The Round Table

We started as a three friends having conversations about music during lunches together at the office. Since then we have expanded to seven members, including a Chi-town native, and the conversations have gotten bigger and better. The Round Table has grown into a casual setting where music aficionados can gather to discuss all things music. Topics include (but not limited to) artists and bands, new music releases, concerts, recording industry news and concerns, and the occasional nugget of entertainment gossip. We have tastes that cover the entire music spectrum and love to share them (and our opinions) with each other. We are The Round Table! Come join the conversation!
