The Killers to Donate All Proceeds from New Single “Happy Birthday Guadalupe” to (RED) To

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

The Killers just gave us a few more reasons to love them with “Happy Birthday Guadalupe.” The newest single is the fourth annual Christmas song the group has recorded for (RED).  First off, all proceeds made from purchases of the song on iTunes or Amazon go to the Global Fund, which is reason enough to open your wallet. Second, they’ve just released the video for “Happy Birthday Guadalupe” and it features their touring partners Wild Light and Mariachi El Bronx. Still not sold? Well, it also features Luke Perry — loves it — he really plays the cowboy/lost soul types well. The video was directed by Chris Callister.

Thanks to Ashley for the tip.

Robbie Williams Covers The Killers “Human”

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

We love Robbie Williams. We love The Killers. So it’s only natural we’d love Robbie Williams covering The Killers “Human” on BBC’s Radio 1 show recently.  Robbie’s stripped down version full with string section is a refreshing twist on The Killers more dance-synth version. Worth a listen if you like cover songs.

About The Round Table

We started as a three friends having conversations about music during lunches together at the office. Since then we have expanded to seven members, including a Chi-town native, and the conversations have gotten bigger and better. The Round Table has grown into a casual setting where music aficionados can gather to discuss all things music. Topics include (but not limited to) artists and bands, new music releases, concerts, recording industry news and concerns, and the occasional nugget of entertainment gossip. We have tastes that cover the entire music spectrum and love to share them (and our opinions) with each other. We are The Round Table! Come join the conversation!
