The Round Table

Well, this is odd. I’m strangely conflicted between the original Patrick Daughters version and this absolutely incredible, painstakingly-made fan version, by one Gabe Askew. Both serve the song remarkably well, in framing and timing, but I find myself leaning (read: a lot) towards this one, mostly because of the unraveling narrative and overall prettiness. Seriously, this is a beautiful work of art.

…but we won’t let them quit us.

True to their creepy/mysterious videos (see: Knife, Department of Eagles‘ No One Does It Like You –both also directed by Patrick Daughters), Grizzly Bear‘s “Two Weeks” is a weird one. In a good way. We open on the Grizzly boys looking subtly deformed, cherubic yet mischievous –and things just get progressively weirder from there, ending in a big fantastic finish that I won’t ruin for you. Suffice to say, I see this video as Daughters‘ visual interpretation of listening to a choice Grizzly Bear track for the first time.

Apparently Grizzly Bear released a new album this week called Veckatimest. Did anyone else know about this?
