Icelandic band Sigur Rós may be known for its ethereal sound courtesy of frontman Jónsi Birgisson’s falsetto vocals, but get ready to be steamrolled by the band’s sixth studio album, Valtari. The album is set for a May release and allegedly translates to “steamroller” in English.

This will be the band’s first album since 2008′s meo suo i eyrum vio spilum endalaust (“With a Buzz in Our Ears We Play Endlessly”), which peaked at #15 on the Billboard 200.

Valtari is slated to be released on May 28 in the U.K. (and likely the following day in the U.S.). The band posted this teaser video for Valtari this morning -watch it after the jump.
