“Jaws” Marks 50 Years with a Spectacular Anniversary Release
Steven Spielberg’s iconic thriller Jaws is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025, and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment is marking the occasion with a brand-new Ultra HD Blu-ray edition. Following previous announcements of international releases, it has now been confirmed that German fans will also be able to enjoy this special edition.
Set for release on 28 August 2025, Jaws will be available in a limited edition 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Steelbook. The film, starring Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss, Robert Shaw, and Lorraine Gary, will include both the original English and German audio tracks in Dolby Atmos. It also features Dolby Vision, HDR10 and HDR10+ for enhanced visual quality. The edition will include a range of bonus materials, most notably the new documentary Jaws 50: The Definitive Inside Story, offering an in-depth look behind the scenes of this cinematic milestone.
Presented in its original uncut theatrical version, the film runs for 122 minutes and maintains a 2.35:1 aspect ratio. Viewers will have the option to experience the film with immersive Dolby Atmos sound or, for a touch of nostalgia, with the original DTS 2.0 Mono audio.
“Nobody” Returns in UHD with Steelbook Treatment
Alongside Jaws, Universal is also reissuing Ilya Naishuller’s 2021 action-thriller Nobody, starring Bob Odenkirk, Alexey Serebryakov, Connie Nielsen, Christopher Lloyd, Michael Ironside and RZA. The film will once again be available on 4K UHD Blu-ray as a Steelbook edition from 11 September 2025. This re-release includes the original Blu-ray disc and matches the content of the first edition, providing collectors with another opportunity to own the acclaimed title in a premium format.
“The Dark Knight Trilogy” Makes Its Return in Steelbook Format
Warner Home Video, distributed via Universal Pictures Home Entertainment, is also bringing back The Dark Knight Trilogy in 2025. Directed by Christopher Nolan and featuring Christian Bale as Batman, the trilogy includes Batman Begins (2005), The Dark Knight (2008), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012). All three films will be released together in a limited Ultra HD Blu-ray Steelbook collection.
The new Steelbook set will contain the same disc versions as the initial 4K releases, ensuring consistent high-quality presentation. Fans of the franchise will once again be able to enjoy Nolan’s visually striking and narratively rich take on the Batman legend in stunning Ultra HD.
Pre-Orders Now Open in Germany
All of these special editions are now available for pre-order through various online retailers in Germany. With their visually appealing packaging and upgraded audiovisual features, these limited-edition Steelbooks are expected to be highly sought after by collectors and cinephiles alike.
Universal and Warner’s continued commitment to bringing cinematic classics and modern favourites to home entertainment in premium formats ensures that these titles remain as relevant and thrilling as ever — even decades after their original release.
